The central concept of Saga Practice Manager is that a one-time entry of client data allows you to use the information entered in a variety of ways. The result is the automation of many of your firm's tasks and activities, a true time saver for your entire staff.
Saga Practice Manager automatically integrates relevant information from your client's file into a specific letter, form or pleading, eliminating the need of routine drafting. The program included over 900 form templates customized by state and allows you to modify them or add your own. All generated documents are automatically tracked, diaried and followed.
With the stroke of a key, the system generates letters to clients, carriers, opposing attorneys, hospitals, doctors, employers and the police. It also drafts demand letters, motions, complaints, answers, interrogatories responses, bills of particulars responses and other pleading. For No Fault states like New York, the system also includes all No Fault forms, OCA forms and many other forms against the city & the state. The system integrates with WordPerfect & Microsoft Word.
Saga Practice Manager automatically saves all documents generated on a case and organizes them in the Document Manager File. You can select any document generated on a case and review it with a simple keystroke
Saga Practice Manager uses a sophisticated tickler to automatically schedule, in advance, all activities that need to be done or tracked on a case. This "case plan" or checklist varies by case type and can be modified by the user. As part of the case plan, Saga Practice Manager generates a Case Opening Package. This package contains and tracks all documents that must be signed by a client or sent out when a case is opened.
Saga Practice Manager provides over 100 different types of reports about your entire caseload and allows you to add your own customized reports using the award winning R&R Report Writer. The system saves you and your staff a great deal of time that would otherwise be devoted to manually reviewing your cases. For example:
The Case Status Report gives you a handy outline which you can take to a court conference or use to answer your client's questions regarding the status of his/her case. It gives you all the facts, parties and players on the case, and it lists the activity history and outstanding items;
The Case by Activity Report lists cases by their specific activity. Thus, for instance, you can find all cases with outstanding Answer, Bills of Particulars, Note of Issue, etc;
The Daily Worksheet Report lists all outstanding items on all cases for any given day. It also notes the staff member assigned to complete each item;
The Critical Deadline Report alerts you to all deadlines, including those imposed by the Statute of Limitations, No-Fault regulations, Notice of Claim filings and Discovery cutoff dates;
The Document Tracking Report tracks all your requests to hospitals, doctors, the police, employers, insurance carriers, federal, state and local agencies, etc. It flags responses that are missing or overdue and highlights those that have already been received;
The Negotiations Summary Report gives you a history of all settlements, demands and offers for a case. The report also shows the plaintiff's special damages, injury, liability analysis and other information necessary to successfully negotiate a settlement;
The Insurance Carrier & Adjuster Reports are invaluable for offices participating in "settlement day." After you specify a carrier name or adjuster, the system goes through every file and prepares a report listing all cases handled by the selected carrier or adjuster;
The Adjuster's History Report is a valuable tool which helps determine your best negotiations strategy. It summarizes the information gathered during your past encounters with a particular adjuster including his/her personality and negotiation tactics and the negotiation history of all your prior and current cases handled by that adjuster;
The Discovery & Litigation Status Reports track all discovery, document exchange, trial and post trial events;
The Cases With No Activity Report finds all files that have not been worked on within a specified time period. This report will uncover all cases that for some reason "fell through the cracks";
Other reports list cases by various criteria such as:
cases with no carrier, No Fault activity, cases ready to be settled, cases by referral source, outstanding items by provider, cases listed by attorney & type, cases listed by status, expert witnesses listed by specialty & location, mailing lists, and many more.
The system periodically reviews all cases and prepares follow-up letters for all outstanding medical records and reports, lost wages, witness statements and other investigative requests.
The program records all office disbursements on a particular case, such as court costs and litigation expenses, as well as listing special damages, payments received, and outstanding settlement checks.
The system's powerful docket tracks motions, depositions, appointments, court hearing dates, and adjourned dates for your entire staff, allowing you to efficiently schedule your staff's time.
